View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] LG Electronics announced on the 24th that it is participating in the media art exhibition titled "Light, the New Wave of Contemporary Art," held at the 'Art Gallery 180 Studio' in London, UK, until December 18, by installing a total of 100 OLED displays including OLED TVs and transparent OLED signage.
The exhibition features 12 top-tier artists from around the world, including domestic teams such as Professor Park Jesung from Seoul National University and Astrict, as well as internationally renowned stage designers like the UK’s Es Devlin, famous for designing stages for global pop stars, and Switzerland’s iart studio. They created artworks using light-emitting video devices such as OLED and LED signage in line with the exhibition theme. Among the 13 works displayed, 9 utilized OLED displays.
From the entrance of the exhibition hall, media art made by layering flexible OLED signage is showcased. A work that layers six curved OLED displays to resemble fully bloomed flower petals is exhibited. Designer Es Devlin used a sculpture made by connecting 24 OLED displays as an attractor for the artwork.
The domestic exhibition team Astrict, collaborating with LG Display, vividly expressed the blooming of peony flowers using transparent OLED signage. By fully utilizing the characteristics of transparent OLED, the presentation creates a dreamy feeling as if a single peony flower is floating in the exhibition space.
