Former Famous Race Car Driver Assaults 8-Year-Old Child, Throws Them Around "Front Tooth Knocked Out"
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] A video has been released showing a former famous race car driver assaulting the 8-year-old son of an acquaintance.
According to YTN on the 22nd, around 6:40 PM on the 16th, at a restaurant in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, race car driver Mr. A was drinking with his friend Mr. B when he grabbed Mr. B's son, boy C, by the collar.
The released CCTV footage shows Mr. A forcibly holding boy C, who was trying to break free, standing him up, and then kicking him in the side with his knee. He then lifted boy C and threw him onto the ground.
As a result of Mr. A's assault, boy C lost one front tooth and sustained injuries to his lips and nose, and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.
Boy C's mother stated, "When the restaurant owner asked Mr. A why the child was so injured, Mr. A said he had fallen."
YTN reported that Mr. A is a well-known former race car driver who frequently appeared on automobile-related broadcasts and has won more than 20 awards in various competitions.
Mr. A reportedly said, "I drank about six or seven bottles of alcohol at the time," and "I did not intend to hit anyone on purpose. I will cover all medical expenses."

Meanwhile, boy C's mother filed a complaint against Mr. A with the police, who stated that if the assault and injury charges against the child are confirmed, it would be difficult for Mr. A to avoid punishment even if a settlement is reached with the victim's side.
