[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] Chung Eui-sun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, is scheduled to visit Jakarta, Indonesia next week and is expected to meet with President Joko Widodo to discuss cooperation plans related to electric vehicles.
According to industry sources on the 20th, an event announcing Indonesia's electric vehicle roadmap will be held on the 25th at the Jakarta International Expo (JI). It is reported that Indonesian political and government officials, including President Joko Widodo, will attend this event.
Chairman Chung is also expected to attend the event. At this occasion, he is anticipated to meet with President Joko Widodo to discuss cooperation plans. However, Hyundai Motor Group has refrained from confirming this schedule, stating it is an "unconfirmed matter."

Previously, Hyundai Motor Group decided to establish a battery cell production base in the Karawang Industrial Complex together with LG Energy Solution. Additionally, Hyundai Motor Group plans to set up its first ASEAN region complete vehicle production plant in Bekasi, on the outskirts of Jakarta, and is scheduled to begin mass production of internal combustion engine vehicles starting January next year.
