Damyang-gun 'Daesup Malgeun Damyang Eco-friendly Rice' Residual Pesticide Full Inspection
Emphasizing Eco-Friendly Rice Safety... Targeting All Purchasing Farmers
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] On the 18th, Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it is strengthening the safety of eco-friendly rice by conducting thorough residual pesticide inspections from the time of rice purchase, as the full-scale harvest season begins.
Damyang's representative brand, ‘Daesup Malgeun Damyang Eco-friendly Rice,’ has been continuously supplied to Seoul city school meals since 2011.
This year, it was selected as eco-friendly rice for school meals in 17 autonomous districts of Seoul, as well as Jeju-do and Gwangju-si, with an annual supply of about 1,000 tons.
As the supply of rice for eco-friendly school meals expands like this, Damyang eco-friendly rice aims to repay consumer trust by thoroughly managing safety with double and triple checks.
The county plans to continuously conduct inspections from October, when the full-scale harvest begins, until the end of the purchase period, targeting about 2,000 tons of eco-friendly rice purchased from 983 contracted eco-friendly rice farming households (940ha), excluding even 1% of risk from raw grain storage to supply.
