KSD Reports 112 Trillion KRW in Bond and CD Registrations for Q3, Down 1.7% Year-on-Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] The Korea Securities Depository announced on the 18th that the issuance scale of bonds and negotiable certificates of deposit (CD) electronically registered through the Depository's electronic registration system in the third quarter of this year was approximately 112 trillion won. This represents a 1.7% decrease compared to the same period last year and a 15.7% decrease compared to the second quarter.
The issuance scale of bond registrations was about 107.7 trillion won, down 1.1% from the same period last year, and the issuance scale of CD registrations was about 4.3 trillion won, down 15.6%. By type, the amounts were 58.9 trillion won for corporate bonds (including financial company bonds and SPC bonds), 41.9 trillion won for special bonds, and 900 billion won for local government public bonds.

Comparing the issuance scale with the third quarter of last year, local government bonds (-12.5%), financial company bonds (-8.9%), securitized SPC bonds (-26%), and special bonds (-3%) decreased, while local government public bonds (50%) and general corporate bonds (7.5%) increased.
