Recently, a post titled "This is the first drinking table after paying off all my debt" was uploaded on an online community. The accompanying photo showed a modest drinking table with kimchi jeon, ham, and canned beer.
The author said, "I just bought this on my way home after making the final payment on the 80 million won I borrowed," adding, "I craved Spam so much for two years. Although it’s not Spam but Richam, it tastes so good."
He continued, "The kimchi jeon was bought for 6,000 won for two pieces from a jeon shop in front of a convenience store," and said, "This might be a humble drinking table to some, but to me, it is the most precious and valuable."
The author reflected, "Life doesn’t always go as you think. I attempted extreme choices three times, but I didn’t die. It’s been a tough life."
He further explained in the comments, "My mother was very sick, so I used the money for surgery, hospitalization, and medicine. She has passed away now, but at the time, I had no money and borrowed from private lenders," adding, "I worked as a substitute driver, restaurant part-timer, and manual laborer, sleeping only 4 hours a day. Without any days off, it took me just over two years to pay back 80 million won."
Finally, he shared a message of encouragement: "Even when it’s hard and exhausting, the sun will rise someday. I pray that only good things happen to you who are reading this."
