One Crew Member Missing After Ship Capsizes and Runs Aground Near Boryeong Sapsido Sea

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Junhyung] At around 2:57 PM on the 16th, tugboat A capsized and barge B ran aground while drifting near Sapsido, Boryeong-si, Chungnam during towing operations.
According to the Boryeong Coast Guard, a 26-ton tugboat A capsizing accident occurred near 2 nautical miles west of Sapsido while towing. The 358-ton barge B connected to the tugboat drifted and ran aground on a reef.
One crew member aboard the barge is missing. Two people aboard the tugboat were rescued, but one of them is unconscious.
The Coast Guard dispatched patrol vessels, the Boryeong Coast Guard rescue team, and aircraft to the scene. They also requested cooperation from the nearby Taean Coast Guard to conduct search operations around the capsized vessel and nearby waters to rescue the missing crew member.
