Trade Surplus of $94.1 Million in Gwangju and Jeonnam in September

The Gwangju Main Customs Office (Customs Director Jeong Seung-hwan) announced the export-import trends of the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions on the 14th.
According to this data, exports in the region recorded $4.881 billion, an increase of 36.4% compared to the same month last year, and imports recorded $3.94 billion, an increase of 57.7%.
The trade balance showed a surplus of $941 million.
On a cumulative basis until the end of September, exports increased by 41.8% and imports by 45.2% compared to the same period last year, with a trade surplus of $10.754 billion.
A representative from the Gwangju Main Customs Office explained, "Exports from the Gwangju area were mainly driven by semiconductors, while in the Jeonnam area, exports of chemical products and petroleum products increased."
