7 Top Domestic Idol Groups Participate in Hybrid Concert Combining Online and Offline Events
[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 14th that it will hold ‘2021 K-POP in Suncheon,’ featuring top domestic idol singers, at Palma Sports Complex around 6 p.m. on the 30th.
‘2021 K-POP in Suncheon’ is planned to promote clean Jeonnam and the ecological capital Suncheon to Hallyu fans worldwide and attract foreign tourists after COVID-19. It will be available for viewing worldwide via real-time online streaming on platforms such as Naver and YouTube.
This K-POP concert will feature seven top-tier idol groups representing South Korea, including Brave Girls and AB6IX, who are leading the K-POP Hallyu wave, offering a spectacular stage to the audience.
The concert will be held as an in-person event, with advance ticket sales starting mid-month through Ticketlink.
To ensure safety during the in-person performance, the highest level of social distancing guidelines will be applied.
Among advance ticket holders, those who have completed vaccination must provide proof via certificate issuance or electronic vaccination verification (COOV). Those not fully vaccinated must undergo PCR testing starting from the 28th and submit a negative test confirmation on-site. Only then will they be allowed entry after temperature checks and filling out the entry log.
This policy also applies equally to operational staff.
Additionally, the venue will be fully disinfected in the morning and disinfected regularly throughout the event. Audience members are prohibited from moving from their designated seats or participating in so-called ‘ttechang’ (group singing along).
A city official stated, “This K-POP concert is a global Hallyu festival held in anticipation of the with-COVID era. Through a safe performance, we will showcase not only K-POP but also K-quarantine to the world. We will do our best to make it a successful concert by promoting Jeonnam and Suncheon domestically and internationally with high-quality production.”

Meanwhile, on the day of the concert, starting around 10 a.m., local specialties from clean Jeonnam and ecological capital Suncheon will be sold via Naver live commerce at the French Garden within Suncheon Bay National Garden. Also, through a metaverse platform targeting the MZ generation, a pre-buzz will be created for the ‘2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo’ and the ‘2022-23 Jeonnam Visit Year.’
