Namwon-si to Hold 'Hanbok Photo Contest' Until the 28th

[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City (Mayor Lee Hwan-joo) announced on the 14th that it will hold a ‘Hanbok Photo Contest’ to promote the beauty of our traditional clothing Hanbok and popularize Hanbok.

Held as part of the ‘Namwon Hanbok Culture Autumn Week,’ this Hanbok photo contest is open to anyone who submits photos expressing Hanbok and Namwon under the theme ‘Memories with Hanbok.’

The contest theme is divided into two main categories to add more fun.

First, ‘Hanbok Photo Stories in Namwon’ allows any Hanbok photos taken in Namwon.

Second, ‘Recreating Old Memories in Namwon Wearing Hanbok’ requires submitting photos taken recently wearing Hanbok at the same location as old photos taken with parents, family, or friends in the past.

It is expected to revive nostalgic memories stored in drawers of wardrobes, naturally encouraging people to wear Hanbok again and share memories.

If you need photos for the Hanbok photo recreation, you can visit Hwain-dang.

Here, you can experience wearing Hanbok, take photos needed for the contest, and also receive free admission to Gwanghallu Garden.

The submission period is from today until the 28th. Participants must follow the Instagram account ‘Hwain-dang’ and upload photos with designated hashtags, titles, and shooting locations. Email submissions are also accepted.

The judging results will be announced on the ‘Hwain-dang’ Instagram account on the 3rd of next month.

An official said, “The Hanbok photo contest will be an opportunity to enjoy Hanbok in daily life and create memories through a single photo of wearing Hanbok in Namwon.”
