Gwangju Seo-gu Signs Memorandum of Understanding for Dementia Care 'Smart Nono Care'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) signed a business agreement on the 13th with Silvia Health Co., Ltd. and Gwangju Seo-gu Senior Club to train a customized digital instructor group called Smart Seniors and create jobs for them through the Dementia Relief Smart Nono Care project.
According to Seo-gu on the 14th, this project selects and trains a digital instructor group in their 60s with IT capabilities called ‘Smart Seniors’ to directly visit dementia relief centers, senior centers, welfare centers for the elderly, or individual homes to provide customized digital competency enhancement education for seniors in their 70s and 80s.
The main contents of the agreement include ▲establishing a cooperative network for developing dementia prevention software ▲supporting the training of Smart Seniors and digital competency enhancement education ▲providing administrative and budget support related to job creation.
Through this agreement, Seo-gu plans to offer a second chapter in life to the Smart Senior instructors in their 60s, while securing a social safety net by providing psychological stability through emotional support to seniors in their 70s and 80s and reducing the digital divide, thereby creating a sustainable digital Nono care environment and contributing to the establishment of dementia prevention infrastructure.
Mayor Seo Dae-seok said, “In the situation where various non-face-to-face services such as QR code check-ins and kiosks have expanded after COVID-19, digital technology can be very unfamiliar and difficult for seniors,” adding, “We will strive to promote policies that embrace the digitally marginalized so they can enjoy various benefits.”
