Kumho Petrochemical Group Asiana CC to Upgrade 'ABC' This Fall
Upgrades to Golf Course Accessibility, Lighting, and Transportation
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Kumho Petrochemical Group announced on the 14th that Asiana CC, operated in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, is preparing for facility upgrades ahead of the autumn season. Since its parent company Kumho Resort was incorporated into Kumho Petrochemical Group last April, Asiana CC has established a new mid-to-long-term master plan and has been actively investing in improving facility infrastructure and customer service.
The upgrades at Asiana CC can be summarized as ‘ABC’. First, the golf course entrance road was completely refurbished to enhance accessibility. The 3.7 km road from the Yangji IC near the Yeongdong Expressway entrance, passing through Asiana CC to the Asiana CC Samgeori (three-way intersection) above, was fully repaved to improve convenience for users.
Next, the golf course lighting was replaced to increase brightness. Over 100 lights installed on about 20 poles in key areas of the western course of Asiana CC were replaced to facilitate visibility during night rounds. LED lights were used as the light source, which provide more than three times the brightness of the previous lights while consuming relatively low power.
Finally, all 60 five-seater carts used for transportation within the golf course were replaced with new models. The newly introduced carts have improved power and battery performance, enabling 36 holes of play on a single charge. Additionally, course environment improvement works were carried out so that members can feel the changes during their rounds.
In addition, Asiana CC has completed the renovation of the caddy dormitory to enhance the job satisfaction of caddies, which directly affects the quality of golf rounds, and is scheduled to reopen on the 16th. A total of 1.2 billion KRW was invested in the dormitory renovation.
