'Suneung D-1 Month' Seoul Run Holds College Entrance Briefing for Vulnerable Youth... Supports 1:1 Consulting
Admission Support Service Starts from the 15th... Bridging the Gap in Entrance Exam Information for Underprivileged Youth
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] With the 2022 academic year College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) about a month away, the Seoul Metropolitan Government will provide various services from the 15th on the online learning site ‘SeoulLearn’ to help students establish admission strategies suited to themselves.
On the 14th, Seoul announced that it has prepared this admission support measure to resolve information asymmetry for vulnerable youth who are easily excluded from admission information and to ensure equal opportunities in career and college entrance. The admission support services provided through SeoulLearn consist of services for vulnerable youth members of SeoulLearn and open lectures accessible to all citizens.
Services for SeoulLearn members include a ‘Metaverse Admission Briefing’ (100 people), online and offline ‘1:1 Regular Admission Consulting’ (90 people), and a ‘Pass Prediction Service’ (all SeoulLearn members who took the CSAT).
The ‘Metaverse Admission Briefing’ will be held for 100 SeoulLearn subscribers after the CSAT day. It provides detailed analysis of admission procedures for universities nationwide and conducts real-time Q&A with examinees. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis starting from the 25th of this month. The ‘Online and Offline 1:1 Regular Admission Consulting’ supports 90 SeoulLearn members who took the 2022 CSAT. Thirty outstanding learners based on progress rate and login rate will receive consulting through the Megastudy College Admission Consulting Center, while the remaining 60 will receive consulting from current and former teachers registered with the Seoul College Admission Guidance Council through individual applications.
The ‘Pass Prediction Service’ targets SeoulLearn members who took the CSAT, including those who did not receive 1:1 consulting. This service, provided by the admission education company Uway in connection with SeoulLearn, can be used for about a month and a half. By entering CSAT scores and school records, users can receive a report containing recommended universities, college admission strategies, and university-specific pass predictions.

The ‘Open Lectures,’ which any citizen can watch by accessing SeoulLearn without separate login, consist of content from private education companies such as Etoos and differentiated content produced by Seoul city itself for ‘SeoulLearn.’ Lee Dae-hyun, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government Lifelong Education Bureau, said, “SeoulLearn will serve as a major admission information channel providing practical help for vulnerable youth who have relatively fewer opportunities to obtain college admission information. We will do our best to promote it as a guide that encourages willpower and helps set goals throughout the learning process.”
