[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City announced on the 14th that it will open the ‘Seoul Youth Center Seocho Orang,’ a representative youth space for the Seocho and Gangnam areas, on the 15th to provide youth-tailored policies and services. The ‘Seoul Youth Center’ is a Seoul city youth space that offers resources and information needed by young people close to their living areas.
The ‘Seoul Youth Center’ began with Geumcheon and Gwanak in February last year and is now entering its second year, currently operating a total of 10 locations including Seocho. The Seoul Youth Centers, targeting local youth, operate one-on-one personalized comprehensive consultations, small group counseling, community programs, and region-specific programs both online and offline.
The Seocho Youth Center, opening in October, is located underground at the Express Bus Terminal Station, a major transportation hub where Lines 3, 7, and 9 intersect, making it easily accessible for young people. Anyone aged 19 to 39 can freely use the center, and by joining the Seocho Youth Center membership, they can enjoy various benefits such as regularly receiving local information.
The Seocho Youth Center supports comprehensive consultations on overall issues such as employment and career, start-ups, housing, mental health, and living support. It also provides youth-related information and local information at a glance to help young people enter society. In addition, as part of community programs including sustainable network formation support and youth-tailored programs, the center plans to focus on supporting the biggest concerns of youth in employment and career fields by organizing the ‘Youth Career Design Academy’ as a region-specific program.
