Hurim Robot Appoints Kim Bong-gwan as New CEO: "Will Lead the Robot-Based Logistics Market"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Hurim Robot announced on the 13th through the inauguration ceremony of the new CEO Bongkwan Kim that it will lead the robot-based logistics market.
CEO Kim is a robot expert who has contributed to the development and growth of domestic robots on the front lines of the robot industry for about 20 years, from the early days of the domestic robot industry to the present, serving as Planning Director at Hanul Robotics and Strategic Business Team Leader at Future Robot.
From 2014 to 2019, he served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Electronic Control Engineering at Korea University of Technology and Education, contributing to talent development. Since 2019, he has been serving as Planning Director and inside director at Hurim Robot, leading all core business areas of the company, including industrial robots and service robots.
At the inauguration ceremony, CEO Kim said, “I feel a heavy responsibility and a sense of mission in taking on the important role of CEO of Hurim Robot,” adding, “Let us together envision a bright future for Hurim Robot that constantly develops through an attitude of listening and consideration, trusting with faith, and practicing and acting.”
He continued, “We plan to solidify the foundation of Hurim Robot’s core business, industrial robots, to establish a stable base for a leap forward,” and expressed his ambition, saying, “At the same time, through the newly prepared ‘Tetra DS5’ and the ‘Last Mile Autonomous Mobile Robot (tentative name),’ which is undergoing driving tests after receiving ‘Regulatory Sandbox Demonstration Exception Approval’ from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, we will lead the logistics market utilizing robots.”

Meanwhile, Hurim Robot announced on the 1st through a public disclosure that the former CEO Kwangwon Jeong resigned due to personal reasons, and Bongkwan Kim was appointed as the new CEO.
