[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Emart announced on the 13th that it will hold the 'Second Half Wine Market' event from the 14th to the 20th, offering over 1,500 wine items?the largest ever?with discounts of up to 70%.
This event expanded the number of items by 20% compared to the first half wine market in May, which sold about 1,200 types of wine. Additionally, the quantity and variety of French Burgundy wine special products, which are difficult to access due to limited domestic import volumes, and rare wines sold in limited quantities, were more than doubled. The volume of sparkling wines and champagnes was also increased by about 30%.
Due to the prolonged social distancing measures, Emart's wine sales from January to September this year increased by 37.6% compared to the same period last year, accounting for 29.7% of total liquor sales. By price range, wines priced over 100,000 KRW saw the highest sales growth rate at 71.5%.
