Gyeonggi Economic Science Institute Holds 'Human Rights Campaign' for Staff at 16 Overseas Offices
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency conducted a human rights campaign targeting employees at 16 overseas offices in 12 countries worldwide.
On the 12th, the Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency announced that it recently carried out the "Overseas Staff Human Rights Campaign" to promote a sustainable human rights management organizational culture and raise human rights awareness among overseas staff.
The Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency currently operates 16 overseas offices, including 12 locations in 9 countries under the Gyeonggi Business Center (GBC) and 4 locations in 3 countries under the Gyeonggi Textile Marketing Center (GTC), to support local small and medium-sized enterprises' entry into overseas markets.
Through this human rights campaign, overseas office employees pledged a human rights resolution to "actively practice human rights management as a public institution that takes the lead in realizing responsibility for respecting human rights."
The human rights resolution pledge includes ten key areas: ▲supporting and complying with domestic and international norms such as the United Nations (UN) Charter on human rights respect ▲establishing and implementing systems and policies for human rights management ▲prohibition of employment discrimination ▲guaranteeing freedom of association and collective bargaining for the protection and promotion of human rights ▲respecting and protecting the human rights of local residents ▲respecting the human rights of all stakeholders including partner companies and local communities.
Yu Seung-kyung, President of the Gyeonggi Economic Science Agency, emphasized, "We will do our best with all employees to ensure that the human rights campaign goes beyond mere declarations, establishing an organizational culture for human rights management and spreading a human rights culture among small and medium-sized enterprises in Gyeonggi-do."
