Gyeonggi-do Conducts Guidance and Inspections for Industrial Accident Prevention Among Workers in High-Risk Industries
Focused Inspection on the Four Major Causes of Accidents (Falls, Caught-in, Collisions, Fire·Explosion) at 110 Sites Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province will conduct industrial accident prevention guidance and inspections targeting high-risk industries.
The province announced on the 12th that "considering the increasing number of industrial accident fatalities and the consecutive large-scale fires at logistics centers, which have raised social concerns, we will promote 'industrial accident prevention consulting guidance and inspections.'"
The province will carry out the inspections focusing on a total of 110 high-risk industry sites (construction, manufacturing, transportation and warehousing) in areas with multiple industrial accident fatalities and reflecting regional industrial characteristics, including Hwaseong, Yongin, Pocheon, Namyangju, and Icheon, until the 22nd.
The inspection teams will provide guidance and inspections on the four major causes of accidents: falls, entrapment, collisions, and fire/explosions, along with safety management education for on-site managers and workers.
In particular, to encourage voluntary improvement, business owners will be involved, and this will be conducted separately from the existing 'Labor Safety Keeper' project promoted by the province and city/county governments.
