Seongbuk-gu expanded the operation to 10 centers by opening 2 additional Our Neighborhood Care Centers on the 8th, following the opening on the 1st. A Seongbuk-gu official stated, "We will provide more thorough care services for children who need after-school care."
Starting with Our Neighborhood Care Center Seongbuk No.1 (Byeolbyeol Jaeminan Classroom, Jangwi 1-dong) in January 2019, one center was added in 2020, and from March to October 2021, eight new centers were opened, expanding to Seongbuk No.10.
The currently operating Our Neighborhood Care Centers are located in Jangwi 1-dong (No.1), Seokgwan-dong (No.2), Dongseon-dong (No.3), Jangwi 2-dong (No.4), Jeongneung 2-dong (No.5), Gireum 2-dong (No.8), Jeongneung 4-dong (No.9), and Jongam-dong (No.10). The newly opened centers in October are ▲ Seongbuk No.6 in Donam 2-dong (89 Arirang-ro, inside Donam Ilsin Geonyeong Apartment) and ▲ Seongbuk No.7 in Gireum 1-dong (118 Gireum-ro, inside Ipyunhansesang Apartment).
Our Neighborhood Care Centers are available to children aged 6 to 12 years old in elementary school. Operating hours are from 1 PM to 7 PM during the school term and from 9 AM to 7 PM during vacations. The usage fee is 50,000 KRW per month for regular care and 2,500 KRW per day for temporary care. Various services such as play activities, cultural, artistic, and sports programs, and snacks are provided. Applications can be made by phone to the center or through the Our Neighborhood Care Center portal.

Seungro Lee, Mayor of Seongbuk-gu, said, "With the goal of one care center per neighborhood, we plan to continuously expand the Seongbuk-type Our Neighborhood Care Centers, which have high satisfaction not only among elementary school children but also their parents." He added, "We will do our best to fill the gap in elementary care and realize universal care without blind spots."
