As Social Distancing Prolongs... Emart Sees Surge in Sales of Extra-Large TVs
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] As social distancing continues for a prolonged period, the sales of ultra-large TVs over 75 inches have significantly increased due to extended home-staying lifestyles.
According to Emart on the 11th, from January to September this year, TVs over 75 inches accounted for 40.8% of sales, achieving first place for the first time. Sales of TVs over 75 inches rose 35.9% compared to the same period last year, and sales of premium TVs such as QLED and OLED increased by 127%. Meanwhile, sales of TVs 55 inches and below decreased by about 30%.
Emart has pursued larger and more premium TVs under its own brand. Following the launch of the 'Electroman 65-inch TV' last year, it released the upgraded '65-inch Electroman QLED TV' last month. This month, it plans to launch the ‘Electroman Premium MiniLED Smart TV’.
