Yeonggwang-gun Supports Social Insurance Premiums for Small Business Owners
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jeonseong] Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang-gun (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 8th that it will promote the ‘Social Insurance Premium Support Project’ from this month until December for one-person self-employed and small businesses with fewer than 10 employees.
This project targets one-person self-employed individuals enrolled in social insurance (employment and industrial accident insurance) and supports 50% of the social insurance premium amount for three months.
A one-person self-employed individual is a small business owner who, as of the last day of the month prior to the month of application for employment and industrial accident insurance premium support, does not employ workers under the Labor Standards Act.
The ‘Social Insurance Premium Support Project for Small Businesses with Fewer Than 10 Employees’ targets business owners who employ workers eligible for the ‘Durunuri Social Insurance Premium’ support, a project where the government supports 80% of employment insurance and national pension premiums paid by both workers and employers (workers with an average monthly wage below 2.2 million KRW).
Among the national pension and employment insurance premiums imposed this year, the project supports up to three months of the employer’s share excluding the 80% government support from Durunuri.
The application period is until December 15 (the project may end early if funds are exhausted), and applications along with required documents can be submitted to the County Office’s Economic Energy Division or the Eup/Myeon offices.
Governor Kim Junsung said, “I hope this support project will be of some help to small business owners struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “We will not spare support for small business owners and ask everyone to work together to overcome these difficult times.”
