Ansan "Gloomy and Unpleasant"... Reason for Giving Netizens a Sharp Rebuke
[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] An San, who achieved a triple crown in archery at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, expressed her displeasure toward a netizen impersonating her social media (SNS) account, saying it was "creepy and unpleasant."
On the 6th, An posted on her Instagram story, "Please take down the ID and profile picture," adding, "This is not even creepy, it's just unpleasant," revealing her feelings.
The photo An shared along with her post showed a Twitter account that exactly copied her Instagram sub-account. Since sub-accounts are often operated as private accounts to protect privacy, it is generally difficult to find sub-account information.
However, the netizen impersonating An found her private account and set the profile picture, ID, and name exactly the same.
In response, An said, "It's not just similar; using the exact same name, ID, and profile picture is not right. Why are you saving my precious photos and using them as your profile picture without permission?" She added, "It really makes me uncomfortable, so please delete them forever from your gallery or trash."
She continued, "I'm not asking for much, just please respect my boundaries," and appealed, "Enough already. How many times is this?"
The story has since been deleted from An San's Instagram. Instagram stories are visible only for 24 hours after posting.
