Public Procurement Service, Pilot Purchase of Innovative Products Worth 17.7 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Public Procurement Service announced on the 7th that it will select government and public institutions to purchase innovative products and conduct pilot purchases of 63 innovative products worth approximately 17.7 billion KRW.
The results of the demand matching for the pilot purchase project will be disclosed through the Innovation Market. This project aims to promote the purchase of innovative products in the public sector by having the Public Procurement Service act as the first buyer to directly purchase innovative products and provide them for use by government and public institutions.
In the second phase of the innovative product pilot purchase project, the Public Procurement Service selected 107 products out of 270 innovative products without prior pilot purchase history, conducted a demand survey targeting government and public institutions, and finalized 63 products.
The newly selected products will be allocated quantities so that up to five institutions can pilot purchase within 300 million KRW each, allowing 137 institutions to conduct pilot use.
The Public Procurement Service plans to complete purchase contracts for the 63 products within this month and support commercialization after 2 to 3 months of pilot use.
The total scale of the innovative product pilot purchase project conducted this year is 44.5 billion KRW, and the budget confirmed for execution so far is 44.2 billion KRW, accounting for 99% of the total amount.
The Public Procurement Service plans to continue supporting initial market development through innovative product pilot purchases by conducting demand surveys focusing on products without prior pilot purchase history.
