Jangseong-gun Achieves National No.1 in Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Evaluation

[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Yoo Doo-seok) announced on the 6th that it ranked first nationwide in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs' agricultural machinery rental business evaluation.

The county recorded high rankings evenly across 72 evaluation items including ▲rental performance ▲business outcomes ▲policy suitability ▲user and staff satisfaction, and was counted as having achieved the most outstanding results among agricultural machinery rental centers nationwide this year.

Operating a total of three rental centers within the region, the county has actively expanded the business by significantly increasing the types and quantities of agricultural machinery, recording a high rental performance averaging about 10,000 cases annually.

Currently, it possesses 870 rental agricultural machines of 89 different types.

It has continuously improved convenience for farmers by introducing systems such as rental fee card payment and agricultural machinery courier services.

In particular, since March last year when COVID-19 began to spread nationwide, a rental fee reduction system has been implemented to support farm management.

So far, through about 20,900 cases of reductions, it has alleviated the burden on farms by approximately 560 million won.

In April, a comprehensive agricultural machinery training center was established to provide educational opportunities for farmers to safely handle agricultural machinery, receiving great responses from beginner farmers.

With the 200 million won in project funds secured through this agricultural machinery rental business evaluation, the county plans to use it for purchasing outdated agricultural machinery and other purposes.

Governor Yoo Doo-seok said, “After continuous efforts made with one heart and one mind by the county and local farmers, we have obtained the valuable evaluation result of ‘nationwide first place.’ We will lay the foundation for building a prosperous rural community through increasing agricultural machinery usage rates and strengthening the rental business.”
