KB Kookmin Bank Opens New Cloud-Based HR System
Introduction of Public Cloud Across All HR Areas Including Personnel Information, Recruitment, Performance Evaluation, Contests, and Promotion
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 6th that it has introduced the ‘New HR System’ based on public cloud (SaaS) across all areas of the HR sector, becoming the first domestic bank to do so.
Following last year’s introduction of the ‘AI-based branch transfer and placement automation system,’ the first in the financial sector, Kookmin Bank has now implemented the cloud-based ‘New HR System.’
The revamped HR system was developed as a result of a project carried out over approximately one year and six months by SAP, the world’s largest software company, together with KB Kookmin Bank’s HR and IT teams. The standard cloud HR processes and functions were applied across all HR areas including personnel information, recruitment, performance evaluation, public recruitment, promotion candidates, and successor management. Additionally, areas requiring special considerations were separately linked to the cloud to harmoniously integrate global standards with KB Kookmin Bank’s unique processes.
A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, “As the first domestic bank to establish a global-level public cloud, it has become easier to reflect and adopt the latest HR trends. We expect the system to bring positive changes throughout the organization, including agile responses to rapidly changing management environments, employee-friendly UI/UX, and enhanced work engagement, as well as improvements in organizational culture and working methods.”

Meanwhile, reflecting KB Financial Group Chairman Yoon Jong-kyu’s commitment expressed in last month’s 13th anniversary speech to “spare no effort in establishing digital-based working methods and optimizing the work environment,” KB Financial plans to expand the cloud implementation experience gained through Kookmin Bank’s new HR system to its global network and affiliates within KB Financial Group in the mid to long term.
