Personal Information Protection Commission Publishes Preparation Guide for Designation as a Data Integration Agency
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Personal Information Protection Commission announced on the 7th that it has published a guidebook necessary for preparing the designation of data integration specialized institutions.
This guidebook was planned and published as a follow-up measure to the 'Pseudonymized Information Integration and Utilization Achievements and Regulatory Innovation Report Meeting' held last July, in response to opinions from companies and institutions preparing or having prepared for data integration specialized institutions that detailed explanatory materials on designation criteria are needed.
The guidebook is structured to serve as a reference during the application preparation process for companies and institutions wishing to be designated as data integration specialized institutions, containing detailed explanations divided into preparation items and reference items for each designation criterion under the "Notice on Integration and Export of Pseudonymized Information."
Companies and institutions preparing for designation as data integration specialized institutions can receive the guidebook by submitting a request with the applicant company or institution name, contact information of the person in charge, and expected application timing to the Personal Information Protection Commission or the relevant central administrative agency with a designation plan.
Lee Jeong-ryeol, Director of the Personal Information Policy Bureau at the Personal Information Protection Commission, said, "Through this guidebook, we expect the preparation for designation of companies and institutions wishing to be designated as pseudonymized information integration specialized institutions to proceed smoothly, leading to an expansion of specialized institutions," and added, "We will continuously identify and improve difficulties related to the designation of data integration specialized institutions and strive to promote the utilization of pseudonymized information."
