50s Man Arrested for Knife Rampage at Noisy Lodging Facility
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] A man in his 50s who went on a stabbing rampage at a lodging facility was arrested by the police.
The Dongbu Police Station in Gwangju announced on the 5th that they have apprehended and are investigating Mr. A on charges including special assault for stabbing another guest with a weapon at the lodging facility and assaulting the responding police officers.
Mr. A is accused of stabbing another guest multiple times with a weapon around 10:10 PM the previous day at a lodging facility in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, after complaining about noise.
He is also charged with swinging the weapon at the police officers who responded to the call, causing injuries to their faces.
Mr. A is known to have been a long-term guest at the lodging facility.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for Mr. A within the day.
