37 COVID-19 Cases in Gyeongnam... 20 Confirmed Among Coworkers in Changwon
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] As of 1:30 PM on the 4th, Gyeongsangnam-do announced that 37 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported within the province.
By region, there are 27 cases in Changwon, 8 in Gimhae, 1 in Geoje, and 1 in Namhae.
Among the 24 confirmed cases in Changwon, they are contacts of confirmed cases within the province: 2 family members and acquaintances each, and 20 coworkers. Two individuals were tested upon their own request and confirmed positive, and the remaining one is a coworker contact of a confirmed case from Busan.
Seven of the confirmed cases in Gimhae are contacts of confirmed cases within the province, and one is an acquaintance of a confirmed case related to a foreign restaurant located in Gimhae. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the foreign restaurant in Gimhae to 108.
The one confirmed case in Geoje and the one in Namhae are each coworkers of confirmed cases from the Seoul metropolitan area.
Accordingly, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the province has increased to 11,738 (818 hospitalized, 10,886 discharged, 34 deceased).

The province explained, "One foreign confirmed case from September 29 was identified as the same individual as a confirmed case from September 19 and will be excluded from the count starting from the 4th," adding, "This case was double-counted due to errors in the English name and passport number during epidemiological investigation."
