Seoul City Hosts 'Seoul Future Heritage' Life Photo Contest... Award-Winning Works Online Photo Exhibition
Photos Capturing 489 Seoul Future Heritage Sites, Up to 5 Entries Per Person Allowed
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 3rd that it will hold the Seoul Future Heritage Life Photo Contest, where citizens submit photos capturing future heritage from their perspective, from the 4th to November 15th.
This contest is open to all citizens, and submissions must include photos featuring at least one of the 489 Seoul Future Heritage sites selected so far. The aim is to document future heritage as seen through the eyes of citizens. Both photos taken directly by the participant or those for which they hold copyright are eligible for submission.
Each person can submit up to five works. Anyone nationwide who has taken the photos themselves or holds the copyright can apply. Winners will be announced on December 1st after a judging committee review, and a total of 2.2 million KRW worth of cultural gift certificates will be awarded for 14 selected works. The chosen photos will be used for an online photo exhibition titled "The Present of Future Heritage" and will be made into postcards to be distributed at tourist information centers.
‘Seoul Future Heritage’ refers to modern and contemporary heritage of Seoul that holds shared memories and emotions for many citizens. To foster public consensus on preserving future heritage, Seoul is promoting various citizen-participation programs such as the Future Heritage Life Tour program, operation of the Seoul Future Heritage Hall within the Donuimun Museum Village, and Future Heritage One-Day Classes.
