[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Convenience store Seven Eleven is partnering with the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries to carry out support activities for rural communities.
Seven Eleven announced on the 1st that it signed a "Rural Win-Win Fund Donation Agreement" with the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries on the 29th of last month.
About 10 officials attended the agreement ceremony, including Kang Sung-doo, Head of Communications at Seven Eleven, and Cho Tae-yong, Head of the Rural Win-Win Fund Operations Headquarters.
According to this agreement, Seven Eleven will donate 50 million KRW to the win-win cooperation fund to support rural communities struggling due to COVID-19. This year, the cooperation fund will be used to provide goods for underprivileged groups in rural areas. Seven Eleven plans to continue various win-win support activities through cooperation with the Foundation for Cooperation between Large, Small, and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.
Last year, Seven Eleven became the first convenience store in the industry to sign an agreement with the cooperation foundation and establish a win-win cooperation fund to continuously support rural areas. In August last year, it also donated over 7,000 food items such as snacks in kind to disaster victims in the special flood disaster areas of Asan City and Eumseong County in Chungcheong Province.
