Woori Bank Receives Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award for Excellence in Greenhouse Gas and Energy Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-ho Kim] Woori Bank announced on the 30th that it received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award at the ‘2021 Building Sector Greenhouse Gas and Energy Target Management System Excellence Awards’.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport annually evaluates efforts to reduce energy consumption, including greenhouse gas reduction activities in the building sector and achievement rates against targets, selecting exemplary companies.
Since 2012, Woori Bank has been designated as a greenhouse gas and energy target management company and has carried out various projects to save energy, including ▲replacing LED lighting in headquarters and branch buildings ▲switching to electric vehicles for business use, the first in the financial sector ▲conducting eco-friendly campaigns involving employees.
Additionally, through its sustainability report and environmental information disclosure system, the bank transparently discloses data on greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions as well as its environmental and energy management strategies.
