KT&G Sangsang Fund Donates 30 Million KRW for Housing Environment Improvement to Imsil County
[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] KT&G Sangsang Fund (Jeonbuk Headquarters Director Lee Unjae) announced on the 29th that it delivered 30 million KRW to Imsil County through the Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea on the 28th for residential environment improvement expenses.
The delivery ceremony was attended by Lee Unjae, KT&G Jeonbuk Headquarters Director; Lee Inyoung, Chief of Imsil Police Station; Park Yonghoon, Secretary General of Jeonbuk Community Chest of Korea; Kim Jonghyun, President of Imsil JCI; and Mr. Hong, the recipient of the residential environment support.
This project was linked to the Jeonbuk Police Agency's 'Warm World Hope Sharing Victim Support Project' and used the 30 million KRW supported through the KT&G Sangsang Fund to improve the poor residential environment of Mr. Hong in Gangjin-myeon.
The total project cost was 53 million KRW, made possible not only by KT&G but also with the help of several organizations including Save the Children, Community Chest of Korea, Green Umbrella, Imsil County Social Welfare Council, and Imsil JCI.
Mr. Hong, who lives with his elementary school son and his sick elderly mother, had been living in a house exposed to the risk of collapse, but thanks to this project, he is now able to live in a clean and comfortable environment.
Hong's son said, "I am really happy to have my own room for the first time thanks to the help of many people," and added, "I will also try to become a great person who helps those in need."
County Governor Shim Min said, "I thank everyone who helped make this meaningful project possible, providing a comfortable home to one family despite the difficulties caused by COVID-19," and added, "We will carry out county administration that pays closer attention to those in need."
