[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 29th that the long-awaited project to expand and pave the 4-lane road between Goseo and Changpyeong on Local Road No. 60 has been successfully included in the 5th National Road and Local Road Five-Year Plan.
This project covers 5.6 km with a total budget of 48.4 billion KRW, connecting Dongun-ri in Goseo-myeon to Samcheon-ri in Changpyeong-myeon.
With an average daily traffic volume of 17,530 vehicles, including logistics trucks and tourists visiting the Damyang Gasa Cultural Zone, this project is essential to resolve traffic congestion issues and to establish a road network that supports large-scale development projects such as Saekkum City in Maesan, Daedeok-myeon.
Additionally, it is expected to resolve the long-standing grievances of nearby residents who have suffered from frequent flooding due to poor drainage in low-lying areas around Goseo Middle School and Ogang-ri in Changpyeong-myeon within the project section.
