According to the county on the 23rd, this amount is 21.6 billion KRW more than last year's performance of 82.9 billion KRW and 4.5 billion KRW above this year's target of 100 billion KRW, achieving a record high total of 322.5 billion KRW since the launch of the 7th local government administration.
This achievement is the result of focusing administrative efforts on responding to public contests, recognizing that national and provincial subsidies are essential to overcome poor financial conditions and secure regional growth engines.
Jangheung-gun operates a dedicated public contest project team that promptly provides information on central government public contests, distributes analysis materials, conducts capacity-building training by inviting expert instructors, and offers incentives, supporting all aspects of public contest projects.
Major selected projects include the Rural Agreement project with 42.8 billion KRW, the Fungal Biohealth Material Commercialization Support project with 20 billion KRW, the Biomedical R&D-based Global Expansion Support project with 9 billion KRW, the Construction of a Community-based National Sports Center with 6 billion KRW, the Living Environment Improvement project for Vulnerable Rural and Fishing Areas with 3.6 billion KRW, the Public Rental Housing Development project for Returning Farmers and Fishermen with 3 billion KRW, the Renewable Energy Convergence Support project with 3 billion KRW, and the Urban Forest Creation project with 1.7 billion KRW.
Additionally, 23 projects (117.9 billion KRW) such as the Rural Regeneration New Deal project and the Fishing Village New Deal 300 project are currently under review or in preparation. If selected, the target of over 150 billion KRW will be achieved, providing significant momentum for region-centered development focused on current issues.
The tangible effects of this record-scale public contest achievement are expected to become apparent mainly after next year when the projects are implemented. However, Jangheung-gun plans to accelerate these projects as core driving forces of Happy Jangheung by promoting early implementation and maximizing outcomes.
The county plans to continue focusing on discovering and selecting public contest projects that improve living conditions, secure jobs, and resolve administrative issues alongside 119 major strategic projects in preparation for the with-COVID-19 era.
