17 Additional COVID-19 Cases Related to Entertainment Venues Confirmed in Gwangju...Total 4,851 Cases
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] On the 17th, ahead of the Chuseok holiday, confirmed cases related to entertainment establishments continued to occur in Gwangju.
Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that as of 2 p.m. on the same day, 20 locally transmitted confirmed cases were identified, classified as numbers 4562 to 4581.
Among them, four people, including numbers 4562, 4563, 4570, and 4577, were confirmed to be related to entertainment establishments in Seo-gu, which has recently entered a phase of rapid spread.
Since the index patient number 4509 showed symptoms on the 14th and tested positive, contact tracing revealed that six people (three workers and three users) tested positive, while 21 tested negative.
The quarantine authorities are identifying contacts based on CCTV footage and are conducting in-depth epidemiological investigations, including reclassifying contacts immediately upon the occurrence of additional confirmed cases.
Regarding tests for foreigners and others, seven people were confirmed positive.
Regarding the logistics center located in Gwangsan-gu, three people (numbers 4571, 4573, and 4576) were confirmed positive. Numbers 4571 and 4573 tested positive in tests conducted just before release from quarantine.
Regarding tests for foreigners and others in Gwangsan-gu, four people, including numbers 4596, 4572, 4575, and 4580, were newly confirmed infected.
In addition, three people related to existing confirmed cases (one during quarantine) and two people related to confirmed cases from other cities and provinces such as Jeonnam and Jeonbuk were infected.
Four people with unknown infection routes were also identified through symptomatic testing.
