Im Chuntaek, Former EgiPyung Director, Appointed as the 13th President of the Korea Energy Economics Institute
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Son Sunhee] The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities and Social Sciences (NRC) under the Prime Minister's Office announced on the 16th that it has appointed Lim Chuntaek, a professor at the Graduate School of Energy Convergence at Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) (58), as the 13th president of the Korea Energy Economics Institute.
The personnel committee held its 312th board meeting on the same day and made this decision, stating that the term of office will be from the 27th of this month to September 26, 2024. The appointment ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 27th. The Korea Energy Economics Institute will be evaluated annually by the personnel committee on management performance and research achievements.

President Lim graduated from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Kumoh National Institute of Technology and obtained his master's and doctoral degrees in electronic engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). He has served as the chair of the Energy Innovation Subcommittee of the Presidential Committee on Carbon Neutrality, an IEEE Fellow, a director of the National Assembly Climate Change Forum, a professor at KAIST, and president of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning.
