Daejeon City Holds First 'Integrated Housing Construction Project Review' for Residential Complex Building in Yucheon-dong
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 15th that it conducted the first review applying the ‘Integrated Review System for Housing Construction Projects’.
The integrated review was introduced to prevent redundant consultations among related departments and shorten the review period by consolidating reviews that were previously conducted separately for individual items.
The core of the system is to simultaneously conduct reviews by integrating the approval targets subject to individual laws such as the Housing Act, the Special Act on Public Housing, and the Special Act on Private Rental Housing into related review areas including urban planning, transportation, architecture, landscape, and disaster.
The first review agenda items were two cases: the ‘Residential Complex Building in the Area of 340-1, Yucheon-dong’ and the ‘Residential Complex Building of Yucheon 1 District Regional Housing Association’.
The integrated review applications were received from the project owner for the Yucheon-dong area on July 21 and for the Yucheon 1 District Regional Housing Association on July 30 of the same month, respectively.
After receiving the applications, the city completed the reviews within two months from the application date through consultations with related agencies (departments). This period was shortened by more than seven months compared to before the integrated review system was introduced and implemented, and both cases were conditionally approved.
Starting with this review, the city plans to hold integrated reviews next month for projects such as the Yongjeon Neighborhood Park Special Project, Dong-gu Nangwol-dong Dream Town, and Hakha Publicly Supported Private Rental Housing sites, which have been received so far.

Jung Hae-gyo, Director of the Urban Housing Bureau of the city, said, “Through the integrated review, the review period has been shortened from the previous 6-9 months to 2 months, and we expect to promote rapid housing supply, thereby stabilizing citizens’ housing security and housing prices. The city will actively encourage integrated review applications and provide administrative support to ensure smooth progress of the reviews.”
