Financial Supervisory Service: "Learn Voice Phishing Prevention Through Videos"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jin-ho] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) announced on the 16th that it will produce and distribute related videos to prevent voice phishing damage in order to strengthen the protection of financial consumers.
The FSS planned this non-face-to-face education as new types of voice phishing, such as messenger phishing, have increased and their methods have become more sophisticated due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. A total of five videos were produced, categorized by major types of voice phishing scams, explaining the latest scam techniques and response methods.
In particular, rather than a simple explanation of voice phishing in general, the videos will specifically introduce actual damage cases and response methods for major scam types that have recently occurred.
To maintain concentration and enable diverse use during education, each video is composed to be short, about five minutes per topic. They are produced in an animation format that is easy to understand for all age groups.
The FSS plans to post the produced videos on the Voice Phishing Guardian website and a dedicated YouTube channel so that anyone can easily download and use them.
