Sinbo Partners with Ulsan University to Discover and Nurture Startup Companies
[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund announced on the 16th that it will sign an industry-academic cooperation agreement with Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) to discover and nurture startup companies.
The agreement ceremony held at the administrative building on the UNIST campus was arranged to establish a mutual cooperation system between the Credit Guarantee Fund and UNIST to discover and nurture regional innovative startups and revitalize the local startup ecosystem.
According to the agreement, the Credit Guarantee Fund will support companies recommended by UNIST. The targets are startup companies within five years of establishment founded by UNIST professors, researchers, and students, companies invested in by the university technology holding company, and companies residing in the startup incubation center. Support methods include guarantees, investments, and consulting.
Additionally, both institutions agreed to jointly hold startup counseling sessions and demo days to promote startup activities. They also plan to exchange professional personnel and mutually support talent development.

Yoon Dae-hee, Chairman of the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund, emphasized, “To restore economic vitality and overcome youth unemployment issues, it is essential to activate youth startups centered around universities equipped with startup infrastructure,” adding, “We will actively strive to ensure that this agreement produces meaningful results.”
