[2nd Report] North Korea Fires Unknown Projectile into East Sea
[Asia Economy Military Specialist Yang Nak-gyu] Two days after North Korea test-fired a long-range cruise missile, it launched an unidentified projectile into the East Sea.
On the 15th, the Joint Chiefs of Staff informed the press corps at the Ministry of National Defense via text message that “an unidentified projectile was launched into the East Sea.” However, they did not disclose specific details, and it appears they are still determining whether it was a ballistic missile or a cruise missile.

This marks the fifth time this year that North Korea has conducted a show of force through missile launches. North Korea fired cruise missiles on January 22 and March 21, shortly after President Biden took office, and on March 25, it launched a short-range ballistic missile for the first time, violating a United Nations Security Council resolution.
