Construction for the Eco-friendly Energy Town, Complex Sports Center, and Happy Life Circulation Center will begin by the end of this year.
On the 15th, Gimhae City announced that it will invest 11.3 billion KRW by 2023 to create an Eco-friendly Energy Experience Center and neighborhood park on a 20,239㎡ site for the Eco-friendly Energy Town.
The Experience Center will be built as an eco-friendly building featuring various exhibitions, education, and experience spaces related to renewable energy such as solar power, while the neighborhood park will serve as a family relaxation space with a fine dust blocking forest function, a walking trail preserving the nature of Bugok Reservoir, and children's playground facilities.
The Complex Sports Center will be constructed by 2023 with a total area of 5,000㎡ and four floors, at a cost of 17.3 billion KRW.
The first floor will include a 25m six-lane swimming pool and a children's survival swimming education pool; the second floor will have a cafeteria, staff lounge, and an office for the Resident Support Council, a communication space for residents in the surrounding impact area; the third floor will feature a gym and screen golf; and the fourth floor will house the National Sports Center (a multipurpose indoor gymnasium).
The Happy Life Circulation Center will be built by June 2023 with a total area of 8,860㎡ (one basement floor to four above-ground floors), at a cost of 20.2 billion KRW.
Reflecting residents' opinions, it will be a customized facility with childcare, cultural, and parking functions: the basement and first floor will serve as residential parking and the Jangyu branch office; the second floor will include a shared childcare space (for preschool children) and a Together Care Center (for school-age children); the third floor will have a public library; and the fourth floor will be a living culture center.
In addition, since 2019, the city has been conducting a resident health impact survey and in-depth analysis research service involving direct participation from residents in the surrounding impact area, scheduled for completion in June 2022.
The city expects to enhance trust in the resource circulation facility through this citizen participatory governance and resident communication meetings.
