Tourism Organization Signs MOU with SK C&C and AIA Life to Promote Walking Tours
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Korea Tourism Organization announced on the 14th that it has signed a business agreement with SK C&C and AIA Life Insurance Co., Ltd. to overcome COVID-19 blues and promote public health through the activation of walking travel.
Through this agreement, the Tourism Organization will provide public data in September on 536 routes and 2,001 course information registered on Durunubi, a walking travel guide service, including the Korea Dullegil and nationwide walking travel routes. SK C&C and AIA Life will utilize this data to develop and provide a walking travel route guide service within the health management app ‘AIA Vitality × T Health Habit,’ which currently has over 1.8 million cumulative subscribers, by the end of this year.
Additionally, SK C&C and AIA Life will share various data on the walking travel status and characteristics of members using the walking travel route guide service with the Organization, so that it can be reflected in future projects to activate walking travel routes. They plan to jointly promote various cooperative projects with the Organization, such as nationwide walking travel campaigns and health promotion projects.

Jung Yong-moon, head of the Leisure Tourism Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, "This agreement is a good example of public-private cooperation that can promote attractive domestic walking travel routes such as the Korea Dullegil, which is scheduled to open all sections next year, thereby spreading walking travel and enhancing public health." He added, "It is also meaningful as it can serve as an opportunity to expand the opening and utilization of public data for the private sector in the future by creating a successful case of external opening and utilization of the Tourism Organization’s walking travel data."
