View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] The campaign team of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, expressed surprise at the sudden confession regarding the so-called 'accusation manipulation' allegation by whistleblower Cho Seong-eun, who stated that "the date of the media report was neither the date our director nor I wanted or discussed."
Previously, Cho appeared on SBS 8 News and said, "Because of the date and certain periods, people keep trying to frame or attack me, but the date of September 2nd was neither a date our director nor I wanted, nor was it a date I was consulted on out of consideration. It was simply the date decided by reporter Lee Jin-dong (Newsbus editor) who said 'let's go with it.'"
In response, Yoon Hee-seok, spokesperson for Yoon Seok-yeol's campaign, appeared on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory' on the 13th and asked, "Who might the director be here?" The host replied, "It seems like they are referring to Park Ji-won, the National Intelligence Service director."
Spokesperson Yoon said, "I don't know if this is a sudden confession or a slip of the tongue, but we are also taken aback and have to interpret it as it comes abruptly."
He added, "If we take Cho's words at face value, it implies a conspiracy to conduct political manipulation. It also explains why the trio of the prosecution, the Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials, and the Ministry of Justice acted perfectly and swiftly after the (accusation manipulation) report. The media has called this case the 'accusation manipulation allegation,' but given these circumstances, it would not be unreasonable to call it the 'whistleblower manipulation allegation' now," he claimed.
When the host pointed out, "Cho said at the end of the interview that she has no relationship with Director Park," spokesperson Yoon countered, "You have to look at the flow of consciousness. The word 'director' remains decisively, and while everyone has freedom of thought, I don't know if it was a slip of the tongue, but we cannot just let it pass."

Meanwhile, Cho posted on her Facebook on the same day, fully denying the premeditated conspiracy allegations with Director Park. She stated, "I never considered Director Park as someone to discuss or consult with regarding any matters about candidate Yoon," and warned, "Yoon Seok-yeol's campaign should not think about orchestrating organized online public opinion manipulation to distort the facts."
