Drug offenders who paid for drugs using virtual assets and sold narcotics nationwide via express bus parcel services have been arrested in large numbers.
It has been revealed that many sellers and buyers are in their 20s and 30s, indicating that drug crimes are spreading among young people.
The Drug Crime Investigation Division of the Violent Crime Investigation Team at the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency announced on the 13th that they arrested a total of 58 people, including eight suspects such as seller A (male, in his 30s), who recruited buyers through SNS from April to August and sold narcotics using express bus parcel services, and 50 buyers including B (male, in his 30s), and sent eight of them to prosecution in custody.
Since November last year, A and the other seven suspects posted advertisements for narcotics sales on SNS and divided roles such as contact persons and delivery agents to carry out their criminal activities.
They communicated only through nicknames and conducted transactions exclusively with virtual assets, showing meticulous preparation for their crimes.
They sold narcotics such as liquid marijuana, marijuana, ecstasy, ketamine, and LSD using express bus parcel services.
During the arrest operation at the express bus terminal, the police seized narcotics worth approximately 130 million KRW, including 300ml of liquid marijuana.
Notably, most of the buyers arrested this time were young people in their 20s and 30s, including many office workers and students, which has caused shock.
Most buyers were able to easily access drugs through the internet and secretly committed crimes out of curiosity, believing that trying drugs once would not lead to addiction.
