Gimhae-si 'Senior Care Service' Selected for Excellence Award at Manifesto Competition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Gimhae City, Gyeongnam, received the Excellence Award in the Population Structure Change Response category at the '2021 National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Competition,' achieving the honor of winning for the fourth consecutive time.
According to the city on the 13th, this competition, now in its 12th year, is held annually to discover and spread excellent policy cases from local governments nationwide.
Co-hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters and the Incheon Research Institute, this year's competition announced 94 outstanding cases selected from 376 submissions across seven categories on the 9th.
The city applied under the theme "Future-type Integrated Care City Gimhae with Warm Hands and Smart Technology" in the Population Structure Change Response category, receiving high evaluations for policies including the establishment of integrated elderly care infrastructure, development and operation of future-type care services linked with the local community, strengthening social safety nets through sustainable care ecosystem construction, and expansion of care-related jobs.
Additionally, since 2019, the city formed an integrated care advisory group and a public-private consultative body, and implemented welfare policies co-created with the community by establishing a health care service convergence platform utilizing ICT functions.
