Nowon-gu 'National Coexistence Support Fund Usage Store Guide Sticker' Production and Distribution
Production and Distribution of Guide Stickers at Over 17,000 Eligible Businesses for Subsidy Use... Clear Indication of Subsidy Usage Locations and Periods at a Glance
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is producing and distributing informational stickers to indicate businesses that accept the COVID-19 coexistence national support fund within the district.
Since the 6th, the district has been providing the national support fund to help revive the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19. The support fund can be used at various businesses within the district such as local stores, hospitals, and academies, excluding sectors where usage is not allowed like department stores and large supermarkets. However, it has been inconvenient for residents to verify whether each business accepts the fund.
Accordingly, the district decided to produce stickers to make it easier for residents to identify places where the national support fund can be used at a glance and distribute them to the respective businesses. The stickers also include a notice that the support fund must be used by December 31 of this year.
The distribution targets are approximately 17,000 businesses within the district where the national support fund can be used, including traditional markets, neighborhood supermarkets, and restaurants. The informational stickers will be distributed through community leaders in each neighborhood, and residents can also pick them up by visiting the local community centers.
Businesses receiving the stickers have welcomed the initiative. Mr. A, who runs a restaurant near the district office, said, “I was worried about how to promote that we accept the national support fund,” adding, “Since the district office is distributing the stickers, customers can immediately know whether they can use the support fund without asking, which is convenient. I expect many customers to visit after seeing the stickers without additional promotion.”
The district has made thorough preparations, including forming a ‘National Support Fund Promotion Task Force (TF)’ immediately after the government announced the COVID-19 coexistence national support fund plan. The task force has set up a temporary office in the district office auditorium and manages comprehensive tasks such as operating a call center, handling payments and appeals, and daily situation management.
Additionally, each of the 19 neighborhoods operates an execution team led by the neighborhood chief to provide dedicated reception desks and conduct outreach visits for applications. The district office and community centers are working together to prevent any inconvenience to residents regarding the national support fund application process. As of September, approximately 423,000 Nowon-gu residents are estimated to be eligible for the national support fund. This accounts for about 82% of the registered population of approximately 515,000 as of the end of June.
