Lotte Home Shopping Signs Textile Waste Upcycling Partnership... "Accelerating ESG Management"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Homeshopping announced on the 13th that it has signed a business agreement to promote the ‘Waste Fiber Upcycling Eco-friendly Project’ with social enterprise Sejin Plus and the Environmental Foundation.
Lotte Homeshopping, Sejin Plus, and the Environmental Foundation agreed to mutually cooperate on ▲ waste fiber upcycling ▲ social contribution using eco-friendly fiber panels ▲ support for expanding supply of waste fibers and sales channels for fiber panels ▲ joint research and development of eco-friendly materials.
Recently accelerating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management, Lotte Homeshopping planned this agreement as part of the ‘Carbon Reduction Campaign’ to minimize carbon emissions generated from incinerating waste fibers. Fiber panels made from Lotte Homeshopping’s surplus clothing are used as eco-friendly building materials in representative social contribution programs such as ‘Small Libraries’ and the urban forest creation project ‘Sum Pyeonhan Forest’ conducted with the Environmental Foundation. In the future, utilization plans will be expanded, including introduction to offline stores of Lotte Group affiliates.
