1 Bottle for 12,900 Won ... Lotte Launches Second Signature Wine 'Killikanun'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Lotte Mart announced on the 13th that it has launched the Australian 'Killikanoon Slouch Shiraz' as its second signature wine, satisfying both reasonable price and quality.
Killikanoon is a boutique winery established in 1997, which was selected as the 'Australian Winery of the Year' at the International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) held in 2018. It has been recognized as a world-class boutique wine by receiving high scores of over 90 points annually from the global wine critic Robert Parker.
Australia's Shiraz variety is made into red wine characterized by rich fruity aroma and medium or higher tannins. In particular, it pairs well with Korean cuisine, which is known for its strong seasoning, making it a popular variety in the domestic wine market.
The Killikanoon Slouch Shiraz (750㎖) is sold at the same price of 12,900 KRW at marts, department stores, supermarkets, and 7-Eleven. As a Lotte signature wine, the mart explained that the price was set at half the price of the existing Killikanoon Shiraz wine by reducing costs through volume negotiations with the winery.
Last December, Lotte Mart released Argentina's 'Trivento Reserve Limited Edition 2 types' as its first signature wine. This wine was recognized as a high-quality cost-effective wine priced in the early 10,000 KRW range in Korea, recording a complete sell-out of 300,000 bottles prepared.
