Gwangyang Maesil Earns Consumer Trust with High Quality
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Jeonnam Gwangyang City's representative agricultural product brand, ‘Bitgreen Gwangyang Maesil,’ announced on the 10th that it has been selected for the 7th consecutive year as the ‘Korea Consumer Trust Representative Brand Award’ in the regional specialty product category.
The ‘Korea Consumer Trust Representative Brand Award’ is selected through a preliminary survey and main survey conducted nationwide by Korea Research, the country's top consumer research institution, to choose the first representative brands, followed by a final evaluation by a selection committee composed of the best brand experts in Korea.
The city has expanded and supported production area distribution facilities such as maintenance of neglected maesil orchards, support for stopping and pruning manpower, distribution of power pruning shears, and joint sorting facilities to promote high-quality maesil production and distribution activation.
To expand consumption and secure stable sales channels for Gwangyang Maesil, strategic promotion and marketing such as non-face-to-face online home shopping, virtual markets, and live commerce were also promoted in line with the COVID-19 trend.
Additionally, various TV programs and commercials were produced and aired to actively promote the reputation and usefulness of Gwangyang Maesil to consumers, striving to expand the domestic consumption base of maesil.
Deputy Mayor Kim Kyung-ho said, “Since ‘Bitgreen Gwangyang Maesil’ has won the Consumer Trust Representative Brand Award for 7 consecutive years this year, we will continue to make greater efforts to receive good evaluations from consumers,” and added, “We will do our best in the production and distribution of Gwangyang Maesil, the ‘best luxury product’ that consumers can trust and seek.”
