Hwang Gyu-yeon Appointed as President of Gwanghae Mining Corporation
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Hwang Gyu-yeon, former president of Korea Resources Corporation, was inaugurated as the first president of the Korea Mine Reclamation Corporation on the 10th. The Mine Reclamation Corporation was newly established by merging the Korea Mine Reclamation Authority and Korea Resources Corporation.
President Hwang was born in Namwon, Jeonbuk, and majored in Public Administration at Hanyang University and Policy Science (Master's) at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States. He entered public service through the 30th Administrative Examination in 1986, served as Director General of Trade Policy Bureau and Director General of Industrial Infrastructure at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and later served as President of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and Korea Resources Corporation.
